5 Tips For Removing Lipstick Stain from Your Lips

Your lipstick was your most reliable wing women today, but now you’re left with rubbing your lips raw trying to remove the long-lasting remnants of it. Sound familiar?

In order for that lipstick to stay on as long as it does, it also means you’ll need to put in a little extra work in removing it. All good, because here we have some hacks to removing lipstick stain with popular household products you most likely already have in your cabinet. Time to pucker up and not hold your lipstick game back, because here are five ways to remove lipstick stain from your lips.

Five ways to remove lipstick stain:

Velvet Crane Lip Exfoliant

Yes, that’s right! The Velvet Crane Lip Scrub is the perfect natural beauty product for removing that lip ring left on your lips. Not only does it remove dead, dry skin from wearing lipstick all day (which tends to dehydrate your lips), it takes along all that stain with the dry skin. The brown sugar and oil ingredients removes the makeup while the honey and oil ingredients nourishes your skin. Your lips will be left feeling fresh and soft, ready for tomorrow's lip shade choice.

Olive oil

Olive oil is a natural and readily accessible lip stain remover option. Drizzle a bit of olive oil on a cotton pad and gentle rub it over your lips to remove any remaining colour. You can also add a little extra olive oil directly to your lips after the lipstick has been removed to moisturize dry lips. If you’re out of olive oil, coconut oil works just as well.

Toothbrush

Sporting a dark shade? Sometimes rubbing away that dark hue with a cloth will still leave lip colour in the nooks and crannies of your lips. That's where a toothbrush comes in handy! This can be done by applying a lip balm to your lips and taking the toothbrush to scrub the lip balm into your lips. Scrub gently, no need to go full force with it. After a minute or so of toothbrush lip scrubbing, the lip stain and lip balm can then be removed with a damp cloth.

Eye makeup remover

An obvious but still effective option. Eye makeup remover can gently remove lipstick and wine stains from your lips. Apply a small amount to a cotton pad and rub away lip colour. This may leave your lips a bit dry, but that’s an easy fix. For added moisture, apply Velvet Crane’s lip balm to help keep those lips hydrated.

Vaseline

Vaseline is known in the beauty world to work it’s magic on more than just dry skin. It can protect your teeth from lipstick smile disasters, and can also be used to completely remove lipstick from your lips. Apply a dime sized portion of vaseline to your lips and leave it on for a few minutes. When you’re ready, wipe the vaseline and lipstick away with a damp towel or cloth.
